Another amazing weekend filled with uncertainty and adventure. A couple months back my brother Matt got 6 of us hyped on the idea of hiring a heli to fly us into a remote hut just outside Powell River. A couple weeks leading up to the trip we were experiancing some amazing weather. I think we all had a feeling that the streak of good weather was probably going to come to an end on our big trip. In classic forum heavy rain and poor visibility arrived. With everyone keeping a positive vibe, we made our way out to the heli in hope for a break in the sky. After 10 coffees each over 3 hours we decided to default to Plan B. A weekend full of hikes, fires, friends, food and a rad day tour up Knuckheads. Not bad way to spend the weekend. Enjoy! After work I got out for a quick ride around my nieghbourhood. Here is a short vid I shot along the way. Enjoy!
Ashley Adams has been a friend of mine for over a decade. Sometime ago, she traded in her city life for surf, nature, community and overall quality of life. Recently she has gotten on board with an amazing project, and I want to share it with you. Read it and support it! Continue reading
Well where do you go when you are out of shape and the snow stability is unsafe? “Paul Ridge” of course. With 10cm of fresh snow, I linked up with my boys and heading out for my first full day tour. Usually I am at the back of the pack because I like to snap a photo from time to time. This was not the case this time. Wow was I out of shape. On the plus side this was a real wake up to dig deep and get in shape. If you are beginner to the touring world this is a great place to get started. Continue reading
My bro Andrew Maitland and I headed up to local mountain Mount Seymour for our first tour on the splitboards for the season. As we reached the top I set my eyes on this line and was supported by my brother to go get it. The sun was out, snow pack was stable & I was feeling it. A great start to what is going to be an unbelievable year. Enjoy!
