My good friend Mark Therriault shared with me last week that his friend Vancouver local Steve Curtis summited Everest just over a week ago. Steve was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma in 2006 and was given two years to live. It is incredibly inspiring that 6 years later Steve is alive and strong standing on top of the tallest mountain in the world. Steve works close to his community and has raised about 59k of his $150,000 goal that will go towards helping at-risk youth. My Girlfriend shared with me a video that Brian Ceci created for the luxury fashion brand Obakki. With this I came across another film that he did on an amazing local project that Karim Ladki’s started called 9 Lives Adventure based out of BC Canada. Karim fractured his C7 vertabrae in an accident and after felt inspired to provide extreme adventure travel to disabled individuals who wish to push their limitless boundaries and furthermore, create a forum and community for those who wish to tell their stories.
