For a little fun my girlfriend and I decided to get some action on one of our last days in Leh. For only a few dollars we signed up to river raft down the Zanskar River. This river starts in the peaks of the Himalayas and runs down to Pakistan. We were picked up fashionably late at 9:00am and started our 2 hour drive on a miniature version of death road. Once we got to our launch point the guide briefed us with a quick 5 min safety announcement. Before we knew it we were heading for our first class 3+ rapid. Let’s just say that fun is the first thing on their list in Leh and safety is somewhere after that. Near the end the 3 hour raft we headed for our last set of rapids. In classic fashion the boat behind us took a huge flip and the real action began. Paddles, booties & people were everywhere.
