Garibaldi Lake Hike – Garibaldi BC

The last time I hiked up to Garibaldi Lake I might have been 8 years old. I have to say, our BC parks have done an amazing job in maintaining the trails and preserving the park. From the parking lot you hike about 6K to a junction where you can either hike to Black Tusk or Garibaldi Lake. Due to our late departure we decide to just hit up the lake for a swim and leave the Tusk for another day. 3.5k later we arrived to the beautiful bright green/blue lake. If you are just starting to get into hiking and are looking for a challenge this is a great option. This was especially a great hike because my lovely girlfriend joined me. Hiking is not on the top of her list for fun things to do, so this made me happy to see her step into my world for the day. There is no doubt that hiking/climbing is challenging, but what you get to experience along the way is priceless. For more info on this hike visit Vancouver TrailsContinue reading

WHEN IT RAIN’S IT POURS – The Chief peak II Squamish BC

Just got back from hiking The Chief in a heavy 30-40mm rainy day and I would have to say that over the years this might have been one of my favourite ways to experience it. Some times when it is raining it is easier to kick back at home and watch Dumb and Dumber for the 1000th time “I Know”. But trust me when I tell you that a hike in the rain can not be beat. The fresh air and the splashing your friends as your jump in the puddles is priceless. Get out their and hike THE CHIEF! Continue reading

Brandywine Falls – Whistler BC

For 30 years I have been driving by this gem and for some reason I have never stopped to check it out until now. My Lady and I reached the falls after an easy 1km hike. We were super impressed with the beautiful falls, but I really had a calling to experience this falls as it hits the ground level. I am not going to sugar coat the level of difficulty and potential danger in going down to the base of the falls. If you are an experienced climber and have put your time in on the mountains you should be all right. Check out Vancouver Trails for more info. Continue reading

Paul Ridge – Garibaldi BC

My friend Bryan and I decided to go on a conservative tour last weekend up to Paul Ridge. Avalanche danger was on a high so we decided to ride some safe terrain in the trees. Once we got up to the top of the ridge we found out that it was going to be tough to ride the need deep pow without some vertical. We had a mellow deep ride back down to the tail where we found an amazing cut through the trees. We found out that this tree run lead back to our cross back trail. We shredded this run a couple more times and called it a day. Paul Ridge is a great goto area for safe mellow riding. Click Here to see MAP
