Last weekend the boys and I decided to do a little Whistler backcountry touring because the freezing level was at 1800m. As we approached the top on the mountain we were faced with high winds and white out conditions. This always make it a little tricky to tell what direction we hoped to be heading. After a few minutes of riding down amazing untouched pow we realized that we were heading towards Cheakamus Lake “Oops”. Due to the conditions and big climb out we decided to abort. For the next 45min we ended up boot packing our way out. The rest of the day was spent shredding deep pow down Lesser Flute nearly all to our selves. The moral of the story is to play it safe when you can’t see Sh!t.
